E taku reo e.
Nukunuku mai e aku rau, nekeneke mai e aku tini whanaunga
Taranaki speakers want Taranaki reo.
For three decades Te Reo o Taranaki has worked to revitalise Taranaki’s distinctive version of the Māori language.
Uniquely, Te Reo o Taranaki offers advanced reo & tikanga education developed by Taranaki.
Courses include Taranaki kōrero, history, karakia & waiata, reconnecting Taranaki whānau with our reo and tikanga.
We recognise everyday use as essential. We focus on building active language communities, helping whānau speak Māori in everyday settings.
Courses are mostly delivered on marae. Lessons, resources and activities are locally framed, so iwi & hapū can overlay their own kōrero.
Te Reo o Taranaki reaches to whanaunga in Wellington, the South Island and Wharekauri/Chatham Islands, teaching kaumātua, adults, and kura kids.
Te Pūtē Routiriata, our archive, protects written & recorded material and taonga for iwi, hapū, whānau and community organisations.
Owners remain in complete control of the things they lodge in Te Pūtē Routiriata: the items don’t need to be available for public access.
Te Reo o Taranaki offers translation and cultural awareness training to companies & public organisations, helping enhance their relationships with tangata whenua.
